The 2022 MTV VMAs took place at the Prudential Center, and brought together the worlds of music and pop culture, exhibiting their distinctive aesthetics. The exciting roster of talent makes it an evening surely not to be missed.
The 2022 MTV VMAs served up some of the most fearless and eccentric red carpet looks ever, with celebrities bringing eye-catching and high-fashion looks that have stuck in the cultural lexicon. From sheer jumpsuits to feathered dresses, dazzling gowns, sequins, jewels, metallics, neons, and full-monochromes, to the hottest couture with dramatic necklines, celebrities had fun with their red-carpet looks, and we enjoyed them too. The MTV VMAs have a history of creating memorable ensembles on the red carpet, known for their passionate energy, packed with vivid colours and frequently iconic dresses, where individuality and bold style statements always reign supreme and make instant headlines—remember Lady Gaga’s meat dress or Lil Kim’s purple nipple pasties?
One of the many standouts of the night was Lizzo, who looked stunning in a swelled inky blue/black Jean Paul Gaultier couture gown, flaunting the sheer volume of the design. Another standout was resident fashion daredevil Lil Nas X, who donned a full feathered look, completed with a buoyant matching headdress designed by renowned British designer Harris Reed. BLACKPINK dressed in coordinating black ensembles while simultaneously exhibiting their personal style at the 2022 MTV VMAs. Latto carried a full lime green co-ord set with matching mules. Former beauty queen Kamie Crawford donned a neon pink textured Hanifa dress, paired with nude heels and a matching hot pink clutch. There were lots of head-to-toe black ensembles.
