Swiss-based pop star Ridi recently released her single/music video, “Merry Go Round,” a song about the circular nature of life.
Ridi explains, “We’re all just living on a merry-go-round.”
“Merry Go Round” expresses the fact that no matter how old we are or our status or circumstances, what we go through always comes back around, only in a different form. Everyone goes through emotions such as loneliness, love, heartbreak, and happiness, even children. And although adults process these feelings differently, the cycle of emotions continues to revolve.
Produced by Mousse T and Diamond Duggai, “Merry Go Round” reflects a bright, buoyant soundscape, full of dazzling dynamics.
Ridi burst onto the scene with the release of her debut single, “Top Guy,” amassing more than 2.7 million views on YouTube. She followed with “What You’re All About” and “Lonely.”
“Merry Go Round” opens on percolating tones topped by Ridi’s lusciously husky and evocative voice, and then flows into an exotic pop rhythm brimming with sensuous flavors. Ebbing and rising, the tune undulates with intoxicating layers of leitmotifs. The feel and flow of the harmonics are at once alluring and brimming with heady movement.

The video depicts Ridi in an ancient castle surrounded by a troupe of dancers, and then shifts to Ridi in various striking settings, caparisoned in an array of cultural costumes.
But RIDI’s talents don’t just end with her music. An engineering student by day, RIDI is also an anti-bullying activist with her own foundation Stop the B, which encourages young people to use their platform to speak up against bullying.
With “Merry Go Round,” Ridi delivers a stylish pop song decorated by a compelling rhythm and her crème de la crème vocals.
