Music Premiere: Farrow and the Peach Leaves Release New Single “All Blue”

Nevada City, California-based Americana, blues, country, and rock outfit Farrow and the Peach Leaves introduce their single, “All Blue.”

The band’s genesis occurred in 2016, when Graham Farrow Knibb (vocals), Zach Peach (drums), and Leif Bonfils (bass) got together under the name Farrow and the Peach Leaves. Since then, the lineup has grown to include Keith Knibb (guitar), Justin Peach (guitar), and Hunter Jones (pedal steel, keyboards).

In 2019, they released their debut album, Honeyslides, followed by 2021’s Swan Songs, Vol. 1, which found them supporting Aaron Ross. At the present juncture, Farrow and the Peach Leaves are readying their third album, Buttermilk Brine, slated to drop on December 9. The upcoming album was produced by Evan Bailey (Oh Lonesome Ana and Sun Valley Gun Club) and engineered, mixed, mastered, and recorded live-to-tape by Grammy-nominated Jack Shirley.

The band draws inspiration from their love of ‘70s country rock, blues guitar stylings, and the unique characteristics of their home region of the Sierra Nevada Foothills. Knibb’s lyrics and the theme of the music evoke their hometown of Nevada City, California, a small town nestled in an underrepresented region of Northern California that Knibb describes as brimming with incredible beauty, while populated with a wild mix of weed growers, coal rollers, demi-cults, fiery bible thumpers, and strung out down-and-outs.

“All Blue” rolls out on twangy guitars riding a delicious country rock rhythm topped by Knibb’s distinctive, rasping voice, reminiscent of a luscious blend of Neil Young, Leon Russell, and George Strait. The tune, highlighted by a drawling pedal steel guitar as well as gleaming, layered leitmotifs, drips with retro flavors of resonance.

An echoing breakdown shifts the tune into a tasty Southern rock flow, conjuring up suggestions of The Allman Brothers Band, featuring a dazzling guitar.

Wow! With “All Blue,” Farrow and the Peach Leaves deliver lush, heady country rock chock-a-block full of tasty textures and captivating vocals.
