ATLiens & SVDDEN DEATH Join Forces on “Purgatory”

Only days prior to the first-annual Summoning Of The Eclipse Fest in Tennessee, ATLiens and SVDDEN DEATH release their first-ever collaboration, “Purgatory,” via Bassrush Records.

“Purgatory” has been unofficially circulating bass music circles for almost two years, garnering the support of reputable names and traction on social media channels like Twitter and Reddit.

SVDDEN DEATH explains, “I never planned on this track being released, as it was a quick WIP the Aliens sent me during quarantine to work on right before my EDC set in 2020. Over two years after the track was played out during my EDC stream, fans seemed to still be tagging us in it and the hype continued to grow. So when the Aliens asked if they could release it a couple of years later…I was hesitant at first, but after we worked on it some more and upgraded it a bit, I said, ‘F*** it, let’s do it’ – and I’m finally happy with the result and stoked for everyone to hear it.”

With their chromed faces and red-lit eyes, ATLiens hail from Atlanta, Georgia. 2017 saw ATLiens release “Interlock,” followed by “Alchemy,” amassing more than 3 million streams. In 2018, they released their EP, Invasion, featuring tracks such as “Malfunction,” “Witch Doctor,” and “Interstellar.” 2019 ushered in their EP, Ghost Planet, followed by an international tour.

ATLiens has performed at festivals like Lost Lands, Moonrise, Freaky Deaky, and EDC Orlando.

One of the premiere acts in dance music, SVDDEN DEATH, aka Danny Howland, exploded on the scene with the release of his debut EP, Spelljam, via Never Say Die: Black Label. Since then, SVDDEN DEATH has dropped a series of galvanizing singles, EPs, and albums, collecting hundreds of millions of streams, as well as selling out venues such as the Hollywood Palladium and Red Rocks Amphitheater.

“Purgatory” opens on portentous, swirling tones, and then rolls into a ferocious rhythmic wash, followed by dropping to heavy percolating accents. Viscous and dark, the harmonics ebb and rise on sonic layers ranging from thrumming to massive pulsations of brawny bass infusions.

At once muscular and brimming with ominous flavors, “Purgatory” delivers a dynamic soundscape rife with colossal vibrations.
