Anne Hathaway elegantly graced the red carpet at the Getty Center in Los Angeles for Elle’s 29th annual Women in Hollywood celebration Monday night. Wearing a Ralph Lauren gown straight off the spring 2023 runway, the 39-year-old “WeCrashed” star was one of eight honorees at the event.
Hathaway, whose stylist is Erin Walsh, showed off her midnight navy sheath dress, which fit halter style and featured a thin strip of fabric down the spine, creating a nearly backless look. Covered in sequins and silver metallic beads from head to toe, the slinky design glistened in the spotlight. The shimmer was played up by Bulgari diamond jewels, including a Serpenti choker necklace and bracelet, along with the mom-of-two‘s gold wedding band. With a peachy glow and swipe of black eyeliner, lent by makeup artist Mary Wiles, a glazed-doughnut manicure, and her long brown hair left in loose waves, Hathaway exuded classic glamour. Later, at the reception, she layered on a black blazer with satin lapels to contrast the blue tone of her gown and accent her leather platform sandals.
The star joined Olivia Wilde, Michelle Yeoh, Issa Rae, Zoë Kravitz, Ariana DeBose, Sydney Sweeney, and Sigourney Weaver in accepting Elle’s accolade, taking the stage to give her speech while acknowledging her self-love journey following a period of “Hathahate.” “When it happened to me, I realized that this wasn’t it. This wasn’t the spot,” she said. “When what happened, happened, I realized I had no desire to have anything to do with this line of energy. On any level. I would no longer create art from this place. I would no longer hold space for it, live in fear of it, nor speak its language for any reason. To anyone. Including myself.”
