D’Andre J. Herron, Detroit native, is on a journey of continuous growth and community impact. He graduated from Thurston High School in 2014 and earned an Associate Degree in Computer Information Systems (CIS) from Wayne County Community College in 2019. Currently, D’Andre is pursuing his Bachelor’s degree in CIS at the University of Michigan, driven by his passion for technology and its potential to transform communities, but due to COVID-19 his U of M experience came to a temporary halt.
Beyond academics, D’Andre is a visionary entrepreneur dedicated to uplifting his hometown. He is the founder of ERD Technology, LLC, a website development company established in January 2019. More than just a business venture, ERD Technology is a platform for community engagement and support. D’Andre demonstrates this commitment through initiatives like hosting pop-up shop events to promote local businesses and nonprofits, fostering economic growth and community cohesion.
In 2020, D’Andre founded 58Homes 58Families, a nonprofit organization born out of a desire to honor his late childhood friend, Devon A. Gilbert, whose life was tragically cut short in 2014. Through 58Homes 58Families, D’Andre channels his grief into action, dedicating himself to the betterment of Detroit and beyond. The organization provides vital support to local initiatives, offers resources for aspiring entrepreneurs, assists with housing needs, and conducts community giveback events such as providing school supplies to children and schools.
In addition to his impactful work, D’Andre is also a published author. His book, “The Philosophy and Poetry of D’Andre J. Herron,” delves into the experiences and emotions he encountered upon graduating high school in 2014. Through a blend of prose and poetry, D’Andre offers readers a profound insight into his personal journey, sharing reflections on growth, loss, and resilience.
