Born September 9, 1980, Andre Sanders has reconstructed his life and writing career. Raised on a cattle farm in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains in Southwest Virginia, he grew up immersing himself in the horror genre. From watching films to reading Stephen King, Peter Straub, Edgar Allan Poe, and William Peter Blattey, Andre learned as much as he could about the genre–while writing it as well. He began writing as early as kindergarten, and was penning horror during his years as a grade-schooler.
At eighteen years old, he wrote his first novel, however, this 400-page accomplishment would never see publication.
Also, at eighteen, he discovered substance abuse. A demon that would claim and wreak havoc on his existence, until recent years.
During his early twenties, Andre published over 200 poems in various international magazines. Eventually, he would write four short stories, which appeared in extreme horror publications, now defunct. Unfortunately, his twenties and early thirties were his most troublesome. Spiralling into the abyss of substance abuse, the novel he wrote at eighteen and well over one hundred poems got discarded forever, as he’d given up on his writing aspirations.
Within a five-year period during his thirties, he published his first two novels: CRIMSON GREETINGS and TAKER. The latter would go on to be adapted as a copyrighted screenplay; however, no supernatural film has been developed of this achievement. Jump ahead several years, and he’s penned twelve horror titles.
In 2022, just days before his recovery from substance abuse, he published the short story HEN HOUSE. This extremely brutal horror tale stood as the #1 release on Amazon for fourteen days straight. He published four more extremely graphic short stories before compiling them into one volume titled CHAPTERS OF CATASTROPHE. He doesn’t recommend them to anyone, as he’s… strangely, left the horror genre?
Two years into recovery, Andre has shifted gears and settled in the romantic thriller genre, as well as taking on his own label THC Publications. His first romantic thriller novel OBJECTION has been featured in Times Square, spoken about in various podcasts/radio/television, and mentioned in magazines. He is currently writing a novel titled UNDERDOSE, which is a forbidden love story that, well, also involves addiction as an underlying theme. Using both love and substance abuse as an equal addiction, it’s going to be interesting to learn what comes of this one.
With two potential future novels mapped out and waiting to be written, it doesn’t appear this author is losing imagination as he ages. Believe me, he’s going to be sticking around for a long while, and who’s to say where he’s going to land.
He’s in flight mode!
