Selena Gomez is giving audiences a piece of her mind. On Oct. 11, the star and entrepreneur shared the first full-length trailer for her Apple TV+ documentary, “Selena Gomez: My Mind and Me,” followed by a sneak-peek clip of her visiting a childhood friend on Oct. 26. The feature-length film will detail Gomez’s ever-expanding career and personal mental health journey.

Intimate footage spanning Gomez’s lifetime can be seen in the trailer. The clip also shares a snippet of her stirring new song for the project, also titled “My Mind and Me,” which dropped in full on Nov. 3, a day before the documentary’s premiere.

In the trailer, Gomez expresses her conflicting feelings about fame and her desire to do something good with it. “My whole life since I was a kid, I’ve been working. I don’t want to be, like, super famous, but I do know that if I’m here, I have to use that for good,” she says tearfully before acknowledging that the fear she’s not good enough holds her back. “That’s something I felt a lot while growing up.”

During a Nov. 2 appearance on “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” Gomez opened up about why she chose to disclose some of her most personal matters in the documentary, including her bipolar disorder and battling lupus. “I was able to say my diagnosis out loud for the first time, and it gave me such strength,” Gomez told the daytime talk-show host. “It wasn’t easy, and I think that’s why I wanted the documentary to feel really personal.”

Gomez also shared that she’s “kind of scared” to unveil the movie. “A lot of people are going to see this whole other side of me, and I’m like, I hope they like it . . . I’m really nervous,” she added.

Gomez released her new song for her doc, also titled “My Mind and Me,” on Nov. 3. Previously, lyrics from the song were teased in the documentary’s trailer. Gomez opened up to Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1 (via ET) about the meaning behind the song, saying, “There’s just so much bottled up, and I think that I do a good job, hopefully, of being cautious and being aware of other people’s feelings. And I’m very vague, and I can be very politically correct. And in my music, I get to really say what I feel. And I think that’s why this song means so much to me, and in a different way than any of my other songs only because I’ve attached this to my mental health and I’m addressing what it is. I mean, it’s completely cathartic for me and I think it goes so well with the documentary.”

Selena Gomez’s “My Mind and Me” Song Lyrics

VERSE 1
Wanna hear a part to my story? I tried to hide in the glory
And sweep it under the table so you would never know
Sometimes I feel like an accident, people look when they’re passin’ it
Never check on the passenger, they just want the free show

PRE-CHORUS
Yeah, I’m constantly
Tryna fight somethin’ that my eyes can’t see

CHORUS
My mind and me
We don’t get along sometimes
And it gets hard to breathe
But I wouldn’t change my life
And all of the crashin’ and burnin’ and breakin’, I know now
If somеbody sees me like this, then thеy won’t feel alone now
My mind and me

VERSE 2
It’s hard to talk and feel heard when you always feel like a burden
Don’t wanna add to concern I know they already got
But if I pull back the curtain, then maybe someone who’s hurtin’
Will be a little more certain they’re not the only one lost

PRE-CHORUS
Yeah, I’m constantly
Tryna fight somethin’ that my eyes can’t see

CHORUS
My mind and me
We don’t get along sometimes
And it gets hard to breathe
But I wouldn’t change my life
And all of the crashin’ and burnin’ and breakin’, I know now
If somebody sees me like this, then they won’t feel alone now

OUTRO
My mind and me (Ah, ah, ah)
My mind and me (Ah, ah, ah)
My mind, my mind
My mind and me (Ah, ah, ah)
My mind and me (Ah, ah, ah)
Oh, it’s only my mind and me
My mind and me
